Earthship Biotecture joined by a team of local, national and international volunteers has built what we call the “Windship” Earthship design in the Philippines. The Windship has evolved from the Simple Survival Earthship design and functions to serve as an aerodynamic storm shelter and school building for a community outside of Tacloban in Leyte Island. There has been much interest by government officials in the replication of the Windship throughout the Philippines in the future which will help to create typhoon resistant, multifunctional use community buildings.
