We are offering a highly affordable and beautiful experience of learning and inspiration, in our PDC course. Based in the natural and gorgeous surroundings of the Sierra Nevada mountains, it is a 16 day long residential course.
The intense theoretical lessons in the classroom are balanced out by practical workshops and exciting 'field trips' to visit two other permaculture projects in the local valleys and mountains. We feel it is important to see the subjects that we study being put into action, experiencing the ways people put permaculture in practice.
The local area also includes many opportunities for continuing your permaculture journey, such as Volunteering on farms, practising design skills, working at the local seed bank, it’s a hive of eco-minded activity!
Taught by local farmer Ras John Cresswell and with special guest teacher Cathy Whitefield, partner of famous U.K. permaculture godfather, Patrick Whitefield. The course will also include five other guest teachers.

This course will be held on the farm of SuperNatural, a beautiful mountainside project, And to keep the students happy there will be lots of fresh organic food coming straight out of the gardens. We are very blessed to be able to have our own spring water and an ancient flood-irrigation system.

This course has a maximum of 25 people, but we had many requests for the last course, so please be quick in booking if you want a place!

We are super excited to return for our 5th PDC at Ekbacka Gård in south Sweden!

Details here:

http://circlepermaculture.com/sweden-august-2020/

A wonderful summer course in a wonderful location! Come and learn how to approach environmental regeneration with excitement and positivity with some of the loveliest hosts you'll find on the planet! You'll leave looking at the world in a new light, with a sharpened resolve for environmental action by working with nature and with the foundations to be the change you wish to see.

During the course we hope several of the 30 varieties of tomatoes growing on site will be harvested - a great opportunity to learn about yield extension. It's also a marvel for the eyes!

Ekbacka Gård is a lovely self sustainable farm set on 20ha and located 30 kilometres from Kalmar and 15 km from the Baltic coast. Using permaculture techniques and biodynamic farming it is a fabulous example of food production and sustainable living. Since 2006 the farm has been run by Bo, Katrin and the help of their 5 children and volunteers. They added their animals (horses, goats, chickens, dogs, cats) and their dream of developing an eco village. This is a great opportunity for students to see a real project where permaculture is combined successfully with community and family life.

THIS HAS NOW GONE ONLINE - https://tangleha.house/portfolio/permaculture-design-course/

This is the full permaculture design course as accredited by the permaculture association. Graham Bell, the U.K.'s longest serving teacher is coming to lead on this one with a few other facilitaters coming to share their expertise too. The course will cover the ethics, principles and the design tools and methods. There will also be a variety of specific sessions ranging from forest garden implementation and maintenance to food preservation and from non-violent communication to thermal rocket stoves. And lots about how to care for and improve our soils.

Come and stay in a working permaculture land centre and experience community living in a remote and beautiful location on the Aberdeenshire coast.

We will learn from nature how to manage systems well which provide for all human needs. That may start with growing our own food. But it surely includes how we manage all our energy usage- building homes and workplaces which are energy efficient and delightful, working together to make sustainable management of all our society needs. Creating trade structures which are fair for all. Looking after our people, our land and all living things. Leaving the world at least as healthy and abundant as we found it, whilst treading lightly on the planet in our journey. Bringing wealth creation to the places it is most needed with consequent improvement to health and happiness.

The permaculture design course is an unforgettable and life-changing experience full of fascinating insights, helping you realise your life’s dreams, and supporting others to do the same.

Come join us for an amazing Permaculture Design Certificate Course in Central Portugal, on a stunning site committed to sustainability, featuring countless examples of sustainable living strategies and techniques. Owned and run by Wendy Howard, eco-builder, gardener, biologist, ecologist, activist and pioneer in the region.

We are extremely excited to partner with Wendy, who has staged an incredible bounce back following the tragic fires that devastated the region in 2017. This really is a superb opportunity to be immersed in an off-grid permaculture smallholding/ homesteading.

NOTE – WE ARE ALSO OFFERING A POST-PDC PRACTICAL LED BY WENDY! A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR HANDS-ON IMPLEMENTATION FOLLOWING THE DESIGN PROCESS

About the site:

Quinta do Vale is part way up a mountain in the Serra do Açor, part of Portugal’s principal mountain range. It’s about 75km (45 miles) inland by road from the university city of Coimbra, Portugal’s 12th century capital, and 100km (62 miles) inland from the Atlantic ocean.

Its 2-ish hectares (5 acres) of steeply-terraced land lie between 360-420m (1,200-1,400 feet) above sea level. The land is predominantly north-facing, forming a rough S-shape around a northeast-running river valley. It’s sheltered by mountain ridges to the south and west, and to a lesser extent to the north. Slopes vary between 30-45°. The major biome type is warm temperate with climate classified as US Zone 9 and Köppen-Geiger borderline Csa/Csb (warm to hot summer Mediterranean). Annual rainfall averages just over 1000mm.

The Permaculture Design Course (PDC) is a 72-hour internationally recognised training engaging participants' head, heart and hands to discover the principles and techniques of Permaculture Design.

At Tribewanted Monestevole in Umbria, Italy, we bring learning about Permaculture into its right context. You could say it is our up-market PDC. By joining the course you will not only become an accredited Permaculture Designer, but you'll be able to put the theories into practice on the 40 acres of available permaculture gardens, orchards, with the animals and in the local kitchen, all while enjoying the Italian hospitality and delicious organic and locally sourced foods.

The 2020 course will be our third Permaculture Design Course held at Monestevole and we are looking forward to building on the design insights and land restoration techniques applied in previous years.

Umbria is known as the green heart of Italy, with lush, sustainably managed landscapes and woodlands.
